Technical Consultant

Job Description:

PrimeSys seeks a Technical Consultant to work with team members (developers, quality assurance, product management) and customers to understand and deliver complex software solutions in Windows, Unix (Linux), and SAP environments. The consultant will install and integrate third-party payment solutions into sophisticated customer systems and workflows.  

  

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire & apply specialized product skills to provide expert level implementation advice on Paymetric products, while serving as project manager and technical resource during implementation projects.
  • Provide onsite & remote consulting, training, & implementation projects for customers' Payment Card Solutions. Manage multiple billable (new and upgrade) projects with customer and internal teams to install, upgrade or integrate products, and maintain minimum number of billable hours.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot and understand the complexity and interdependencies of various systems, applications and infrastructure involved in an environment.
  • Assist in creating standard documentation for projects, training, best practices, processes, & potentially products themselves.
  • Maintain detail oriented updates to project plans for implementations, and provide internal and external status on a frequent basis, and when necessary, provide escalated support for issues on an onsite, offsite or on-call basis.
  • Contribute extensively to the Software Product Management process, including product planning reviews, testing and otherwise participating in design, definition, documentation, and other aspects of the Software development cycle.
  • Learn the processing aspects of the payment industry to an expert level (particularly hardware, OS, DB, application software, networking concepts, and payment cards with a focus on procurement / corporate cards).
  • Learn the SAP Payment Card Interface (CA-PCI), related functionality and other SAP payment processing functionality to be able to provide integration specifics to multiple source systems, including the SAP Payment Card Interface (CA-PCI).
  • Assist with PreSales activities, documentation updates for Professional Services functions, and with experience, mentor and train new team members when required

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive experience and/or training on various operating systems, databases, and enterprise application tools.
  • Formal training on Cisco, Nortel, Checkpoint VPN Software preferred
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and related productivity tools required
  • 4-6+ years experience in customer facing technical consulting with multiple simultaneous projects and customers.
  • Experience with project execution and Project Management methodology, including experience building project plans and project tracking. Previous use of Microsoft Project is required.
  • Knowledge of infrastructures & applications, & system interface experience (between ERP systems & middleware)
  • Have solid communication using technical & SAP terminology & ability to consult in a rapid, compressed timeframe.
  • Participate in internal and cross team projects, & be adept at working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to learn and operate in an active small to medium-sized business, and absorb and retain information quickly and have the ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation with direct customer facing activities required , with Strong collaboration skills.
  • Hands-on detail oriented individual with great organizational skills with respect to documentation and procedures.
  • Enthusiastic quick learner & self-starter with proven problem-solving skills who can effectively prioritize & execute.

  

Preferrences:

  • Microsoft MCSE or similar coursework preferred
  • Knowledge of payment card processing a plus 
  • Networking, Hardware, Unix (Linux) experience preferred
  • Microsoft Project Server implementation experience and/or SAP implementations/knowledge is also a plus
  • Software / application integration or support experience
  • Formal project management training (like PMP) a plus
  • Prefer experience with a lead role on projectsParticipate in internal and cross team projects, & be adept at working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
